Movies with a Downtown View
This year we celebrated our 5th year of MWADV. Instead of our annual TWO movie nights in (one in July and one in August), we planned FIVE and added new locations. It was a blast and definitely not possibly without all of our incredible sponsors and community supporters.
Movies With a Downtown View is a collaboration between The Little Theatre, the Rochesteriat, the Washington Square Park Community Association, Inc. and of course our generous sponsors!
As always, we will have an ASL interpreter at each event for all announcements and raffle drawings, and each movie will be captioned. Here are the details:
MWADV 5yr Celebration at the Hyatt's 4th-floor Rooftop, Center City Terrace + Lounge
Thursday, 8/2 at 7pm at the Hyatt, showing Office Space:
Join us for Office Space at the Center City Lounge + Terrace at the Hyatt in downtown, on Thursday, August 2nd. This is our only ticketed event. Each ticket holder receives their 1st drink free (good for our specialty cocktail: "Milton's Mai Tai", or choose from a selection of beers and house wines), the Hyatt will also be creating some gourmet popcorn for all attendees. Seating is provided. For all of the details, check out the Ticket Page. Find the event on Facebook.
Friday, 7/20 at 7pm in MLK Jr. Memorial Park, showing Hunt for the Wilderpeople
On Friday, July 20th, join us for our rain-out movie last year, Hunt for the WilderPeople! Purchase food and drinks from Le Petit Poutine, Neno's or Eat Me Ice Cream and sign up for our FREE raffles. Don't want to purchase anything? Bring a picnic!

CANCELLED: Friday, 8/17 @ 7pm in MLK Jr. Memorial Park, showing The Muppets
NOTE: Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the event tonight. The possible thunderstorms tonight are too great to be able to chance everyone's safety. We hope you understand and join us for our LAST event on September 7th. Please see all of the details below....
Find the event on Facebook.
Friday, 9/7 @ 6:30pm in Parcel 5, showing The Greatest Showman
To wrap up our 5th year with a bang we will be showing The Greatest Showman in Parcel 5 (285 E. Main Street)! While we know this is mostly gravel, we will have a small section of grass and we know you can get creative for some comfortable seating. Purchase food and drinks from local vendors and sign up for our free raffles at the Washington Square Park Community Association table in the back. The movie will start around 8pm. Find the event on Facebook.
NOTE: the Midtown Parking Garage will be open for FREE this night only from 6-11pm! This garage can be accessed from S. Clinton or E. Broad Street.
BONUS: Halloween MWADV on 10/19
Just when you thought Movies With a Downtown View presented by Buckingham Properties was DONE for 2018.... it's not!
The Hyatt Regency Rochester had such a great time with all of us in August that they've reached out again to co-produce our 1st ever Halloween movie night on Friday, October 19th. We'll be watching the 1993 classic, Hocus Pocus at the Center City Terrace + Lounge at 125 E. Main Street.
The bash will kick off at 6pm with tunes by DJ Bizmuth, spinning a playlist of frighteningly fabulous jams. There will be food and drinks available for purchase and some Halloween inspired cocktails. Costumes are encouraged and there will be a prize for the best one! The movie will start around 7:15pm.
And don't get freaked out: ADMISSION IS FREE! The Hyatt asks that you simply register on Eventbrite for admission: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/movies-with-a-downtown-view-halloween-edition-tickets-50716583667
The movie will be shown outside, so dress appropriately for the weather.
NOTE: As always, the movie will be captioned and we will have an interpreter for all announcements and raffle drawings!
